Virginia Tech Student Ryan Clark
Ryan Clark, one of the victims of Monday’s shootings, is a native of the Augusta, GA area, where I currently live. This morning, I received an e-mail from a co-worker informing me that the elementary school where Ryan Clark’s mother works is collecting donations to assist her with traveling to Virginia and making arrangements for her son’s body. If you would like to make a contribution, you can send your donation to the following address:
Ryan Clark Memorial Fund
c/o Georgia Bank and Trust
409 Fury’s Ferry Road
Martinez, GA 30907
Also, please consider giving this assistance effort publicity on your own blog if you can. Thank you.

Thank you; I added it to my donations entry.

April 18th, 2007 at 12:04 pm4.0 GPA with three majors a month from graduation. I don’t mean to marginalize the lives of any of the other victims, but man. That sucks.
April 18th, 2007 at 12:32 pmHis academic success is what everyone is emphasizing, but I don’t think that’s all he would want to be remembered for. I’m sure that in the coming days his friends and family will pay tribute to his character, as well as his accomplishments.

April 18th, 2007 at 5:18 pmMalik, my son is a senior at Virginia Tech, and Monday morning was one of the most terrifying days of my life. By God’s grace my child was fine, but I continue to grieve for all the families who lost their loved ones.
Thank you so much for sharing the information about the Memorial Fund for Ryan. And, a more general thank you for your wonderful site.
April 20th, 2007 at 7:59 amI’m glad to hear that your son is fine, and thank you for your support of the bereaved families.
April 20th, 2007 at 9:43 amMy son lived next door to Ryan in West AJ. He was asleep last Monday morning and is terribly sad about what has happened. Ryan always was so pleasant with the kids in his hall. I had the opportunity to meet Ryan in August when my son moved in. He was a wonderful young man, so nice to my son. My heart greives for his family and all the others
April 23rd, 2007 at 2:52 pmThank you for sharing your remembrance Skip. I’ll pray that your son finds comfort.

April 26th, 2007 at 9:30 pmso sad for your loss
I would have like to have known Ryan personally.
He was/is an example of how one should live there life. From what I read he died while looking out for another victim.
While I do not know him, I feel the pain as his family does. To the family and friends of Ryan Clark, you are in my prayers.
